Production and Completions
Formation Damage: Causes, Prevention, and Remediation
Formation damage is a persistent and costly problem, and whether it can be avoided, economically removed or must be tolerated depends on many factors. This course examines damage mechanisms in carbonates, sandstones and shales, especially in demanding reservoirs and after workovers. It then covers prevention and treatment through non-acid methods, acidising and small fracture treatments.
