Energy Transition

The Transition of CO2-EOR to Storage

Many oil and gas skills, especially carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery, carry over to long-term carbon storage, but the goals of the two activities differ in important ways. This course examines those differences to clarify how and where enhanced recovery operations can realistically store carbon dioxide. It covers trapping mechanisms, sweep efficiency, capacity estimates and injectivity.
