Predicting Reservoir Characteristics with Pre-stack Seismic Amplitude Analysis and Inversion

This course explains how pre-stack amplitude behaviour, AVO and inversion can be used to infer rock properties and pore fluids from seismic data. Rock physics runs through the material, supported by seismic attributes, so that interpreters can judge both the power and the limits of these techniques.

Every course can be delivered in-house and tailored to your organisation.

Who should attend

Geophysicists, geologists, interpreters, processors, technical staff and managers who need a clear grasp of how AVO and inversion are applied in practice.

What participants will be able to do

  • Explain how hydrocarbons influence the seismic response
  • Use direct hydrocarbon indicators and AVO in prospect assessment
